Reflecting & Hello 2017
January 07, 2017
Looking back at 2016, it obviously was a year of change for me. New school, new city, and new ambitions that I wanted to explore. A lot of memories were created in 2016 from some amazing things to not so terrible things. Looking at all the photographs I took and videos that I filmed demonstrated pretty much excitement of myself adventuring out and exploring new cities. I explored new cities/towns that I definitely won't forget, not because of the stunning views I got to see but because of the great company I had to share it with.
I got the opportunity to create and make some long lasting friendships with people who are from another part of the world that isn't America, which was most of my friends that were studying abroad. Then, of course, I've met some friends who are from Monterey or California in that fact, which I'm glad I did because then I can always drive up and visit Monterey again. Not that I'm leaving, I still haven't graduated yet. Although, Monterey is 6 hours away from Los Angeles despite the traffic.
Quick Advice: If taking a road trip 1) Take snacks! I drove all 6 hours, but I made my friend feed me a long the way with all the snacks we packed haha 2) Make a groovy playlist! The music well it keeps you up when your tired or if your friend falls asleep and it's just you paying attention to the road. Plus, you can have a little jam party in your car when your driving and other drivers might look at you like if you're crazy, but who cares we are all crazy here! 3) Stop and take a break! Sometimes it's exhausting driving for hours that will actually make your butt hurt. So pull over and take a break and step out and stretch and enjoy where ever you are and take photographs, if not take a nap.
Now let's get back to 2016:
University is obviously important to me and I'm thankful for my friends who pushed and supported me when I was stressed out with school work. Especially those nights when I got stuck in the library studying for hours and trying to finish all of my finals. You guys are the best!
Leaving home was a major change in 2016! I enjoyed being away from home, but that didn't mean that I left for good. I OBVIOUSLY missed my parents a lot! They are my world and without them, I wouldn't be the person I am today or would I get to do the things I do. I truly appreciate everything they do for me and for always being there.
My friends that literally know me we experienced some great things together and some that were unpleasant. It was a pretty, crazy, & cool adventure 2016. Thank you for all the memories!
- To do things that are out of my comfort zone
- To always stay humble
- Adventure out more
- Post more on my blog/Instagram
- Not to overthink things mainly situations
- Eat healthier/ try to exercise often
- Learn how to do my make up properly, I suck and only do the basics because you know that's how basic I am haha
- Go to a concert
- Volunteer somewhere
- and so much more.
There are more things I want to improve and work on in 2017. Mainly trying to say, "Yes" to more things and actually going through with things and getting out of my comfort zone. I can write all what's in my mind, but speaking out regarding my feelings well that's something I need to work on.
My main resolution is just trying new things and getting out of my comfort zone like doing things that I'm afraid of doing.
Wow! I wrote a lot. Sorry for this essay haha but I felt it needed to written down. Anyways what is your new years resolution?
