We all have those days where we just look at ourselves and say, "I wish I looked beautiful" or "Can I just look like her" or etc. Sometimes we feel hideous in our skin because society has identified to us what the term "beautiful" looks like. Most of us including myself don't fit into the category society has given us on beauty. I stare at my mirror and I do look at myself and to be honest, I'm the prettiest girl. Although I do have my days when I say to myself, "God damn I look really pretty today" as to other days I'm like, "this is as good as it gets, anyways who cares." Growing up I was always told, "You need to eat more you're too skinny" or they would pick out my flaws and say it to my face. It did bother me, and I tried gaining weight. Let me tell you I have a fast metabolism which doesn't let me gain weight, which I hated back then. Now I'm thankful I do because I have accepted and embraced my imperfections. Yet, there are days that I do feel ugly and I'm not going to lie about it. Yes, we have all posted on social media of how happy we are and what not. Although sometimes people aren't actually happy and hide behind a smile. No one is perfect even if they said they are! I love blogging because it helps me express myself and my identity through fashion. Also, styling is something I always enjoyed since I was little.
So let me say a quick story: When I was little I used to hate taking photographs you can ask my parents there aren't many photos of me which I regret now. Why, because there were so many memories I wish that were captured. Now I love being photographed because each photograph explains and demonstrates a time in my life even if I was sad, angry, or even happy. Also, the photographs demonstrate how we look and are growing and changing into our bodies. This is also something we can look back on and be like this is how I used to look like when I was a kid and reminisce on the memories that were created by that photograph.
Now for fashion, I love being photographed because the outfit I wear is something I styled and feel comfortable in my own body. This is why I have this blog to share with you guys my love for styling outfits, but also it's too look back and see how comfortable I felt in that outfit. When people tell me that they don't feel beautiful in their own skin I tell them I can relate. So I'm always trying to be positive and encouraging you guys to remember how beautiful you guys are because it's also a reminder for you guys, but to me as well. It reminds me even though I'm having a crappy day and look ugly that I may not be the most beautiful out there, but my feelings and what I want to demonstrate to you guys is that everything I say is completely true. I just want to say by this is to be comfortable and accept your own body because we are all beautiful by demonstrating our beauty by our uniqueness and no one will ever be you.
So I want to share with you all these photos of me with no makeup on because beauty is defined by who we really are which is our imperfections.
